It’s amazing what happens when you are traveling down the right path in life.
The path that you were intended to follow.
The path is filled with open doors, unexpected surprises, fulfillment and an indescribable joy that comes with leaping out of bed in the morning like a kid racing to the Christmas tree on December 25th.
If fitness or bodybuilding is your passion and you are not making the bulk of your income within this industry then I have to ask you “Why not?”
Is it fear?
or
Is it ego?
Are you currently chasing your dreams or someone else’s?
As Gene Landrum, PhD points out in his great book, “Entrepreneurial Genius: The Power Of Passion”:
| “Visionary entrepreneurs are typically accused of chasing foolish dreams and unattainable goals. In order to withstand these attacks, the entrepreneur must have a strong internal locus of control, and indomitable self-esteem, and resilience.
All creative ventures are the result of an iconoclast chasing a dream against the resistance of an army of traditionalists.” |
I’d be willing to bet that if you and I sat down with Arnold, that we would figure out that he is just a regular guy who goes after what he wants - not caring whether or not he risks failure.
The former president of the American Psychological Association, Frank Farley, wrote extensively on the “Big T” (high testosterone) personality that founded America.
He spoke of the Big T people as those thrill-seeking, testosterone-charged personalities who forged ahead of lesser spirits to found the nation.
Farley told USA Today (Jan. 10 2001)
| “Type T’s value variety, novelty and change; they like challenges, have high energy levels, tend to be self-confident and feel that fate is in their own hands.” |
People who follow their passion, take control of their destiny believe that they, rather than some external force, control their destiny.
They lead, set higher goals, have indomitable wills, have less anxiety and are less likely to conform.
They tend to be optimists with a zest for life and a penchant for living on the edge.
To them, change is exhilarating and the status quo is mundane.
Take away message here is: identify your passion, brainstorm the money making possibilities within that passion and be driven by your own goals instead of being satisfied within the “safety” of following the norm.
