This post has nothing to do with marketing.
Or does it?
19 years ago today, we lost the greatest modern era blues guitar player, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
That’s Joe Vitale and Craig Hopkins in the photo at top.
Craig Hopkins is the president of Stevie’s fan club and just released a book about Stevie Ray Vaughan called, “Day By Day, Night After Night”.
The book is a beautiful hardcover monster and weighs about 5 pounds.
It has every possible known fact about Stevie Ray’s life.
Joe got it for me and had Craig autograph it to me.
I read the book straight through.
It’s amazing.
And it has never before seen photos.
Stevie Ray followed his passion.
“At age 7, Stevie Ray acquired his first guitar - a Sears toy guitar with only 3 strings.”
He went on to become a multiple Grammy award winning musician.
Craig Hopkins follows his passion.
A lawyer by profession and President of SRV’s fan club by passion.
He owns a museum dedicated to SRV with guitars, amps, picks, clothing, etc once owned by SRV.
Joe Vitale follows his passion.
Once homeless and broke, now a best selling author, speaker, marketing and publicity master, million dollar car collection, cigar smoker and guitar player.
Life is just a playground for Joe. He helps others through his works and encourages them to follow their passion.
See a common theme here?
I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray play in Dallas around 1988.
My ears are still ringing.
