As mentioned before, my business partner and I are working on a fitness related video for The Mayor’s Fitness Council.
The Mayor’s goal is for Austin to become the fittest city by 2010.
I met with Darlene Berghammer, of the Mayor’s office and Jen Ohlson at Joe’s Coffee in downtown Austin this past Friday.
Jen, who is a member of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s running group, created a beautiful coffee table style book called, “Every Town Needs A Trail” which highlights the trail around Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin.
The trail is used by Lance Armstrong, Michael Dell, Matthew McConaughey, and many other prominent figures in Austin.
These folks give us a personal glimpse of what the trail means to them in Jen’s book.

Highlights of Scott and Joe’s Big Adventure! It was all about fitness, marketing and meeting some great people!
Aug. 21st, 2008 - Joe Vitale and I boarded our Southwest Airline 737 headed to San Diego around 9am.
We were headed for the 1st Annual Steve Reeves Fitness and Film Festival in Steve’s hometown of Valley Center, Ca (just outside of San Diego).
Joe was going to pick up his new (to him) 1977 Jaguar XJS formerly owned by Mr America, Mr Universe, Mr World, Hercules, and business man, Steve Reeves.
Steve passed away in 2000. He was in his 70’s (he died from a aneurisym following a minor surgery)
But what a group of loyal friends he has still - to this day.
